The Charlottesville Solidarity Legal Fund is an independent community resource that is available to all anti-racist activists in the ongoing struggle to confront and end white supremacy in Charlottesville. In order to ensure that funds are available equitably, participants agree to the following principles, which have been adapted from the vision and language of other movement work and community legal fund programs in Charlotte, Durham, Baton Rouge, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and elsewhere.

Donald Trump’s campaign and election saw these fires stoked further, now emboldening the more explicit White Supremacist dialogue that so many had attempted to distance the flag from a year earlier.

The gofundme is by Anchorage, Alaska DSA to raise to help out those in Charlottesville. They posted it on their Twitter, so it seems legit.

Update: I just heard back abt my message to anchorage dsa. Mobile so can’t post ss but they said

He is a member of our chapter but it wasn’t done in coordination with our chapter at all and we can’t vouch for the viability of the fundraiser (e.g. whether there is a clear plan in place with what will happen with the funds) because we found out about it as everyone else did just by seeing the link.
