I love that theres an active witch community on tumblr but could y’all please learn about the law of attraction and the process of manifestation before posting your dumb ass spells and spreading misinformation. Making spells to repel things you specifically fear is still gonna attract that specific thing into your life lmao
The universe doesnt hear what you say it hears what you mean and when you have some subject active in your vibration, it doesnt matter if you say “I don’t want to experience bad people” the universe responds to your active vibration focused on bad people. This universe is attraction based, and inclusion based. End of story. Be smart with your craft, not trendy. Safe travels and much love despite my saltiness
This is going around a lot online ever since the LOA book came out (and all the merchandise), but really, I haven’t actually noticed the universe working this way. I don’t think it’s misinformation if other witches like me post spells written with their own understanding of the universe in mind, particularly when it has a lot of clout to back it up.
If you look at most older grimoires, they’re full of repelling spells, ward-evil spells, and such, so this isn’t a “trendy” modern thing – it’s always been part of witchcraft. This whole “only think good thoughts or else you lower your vibration and the nanny universe will punish you” business is actually rather new.
It’s also not like most people using the term know what a “vibration” actually means. This whole “raise you vibration” is particularly funny to me, because it’s never defined and is mostly a buzzword. I’d like it if folks would actually research what the word means before throwing it around.
And, plus, a lot of those warding spells work pretty well if you put in the effort. I don’t get this whole “it doesn’t hear what you say, it hears what you mean,” thing – wouldn’t that suggest such spells would be effective? Witches don’t cast a warding spell because they subconsciously want to draw in evil forces. They do it because, uh, they mean to ward themselves.
Think about it this way – nobody actually wants to (for example) get mugged, but it happens anyways to many people. It’s not because they subconsciously attract a mugging and secretly want to get mugged. It’s just because some people are criminals who mug people. I could give more disturbing examples, but you get the idea.
Everyone wants to talk about the LOA as in “Oh I manifested/attracted a new fur coat!” but people shy away from the real implications of it, or handwave them. Most people, anyways. I have heard LOA folks tell people with disabilities that they’re to blame for their disability for having a “low vibration.”
I had a roommate a few years back who was really into the LOA. She actually tried to get rid of me because she thought my depression was “lowering the vibration” of the house. She constantly blamed me for bad things happening because she thought I “attracted them” simply by being bipolar and having a depressive episode. If someone wants that perspective in their Craft, I’m sure nothing will dissuade them. I do know I don’t include such views in mine.
I don’t include LOA in my system either. Maybe you do, but don’t assume everyone works in the same paradigm as you. Same goes for the threefold law. Neither of those have any place in my witchcraft practice that I’ve formed for over a decade and has worked out pretty well for me so far.
