Made this because of yet another Tumblr fiasco! Im a queer witch trying to find a new home that offers the same quirkyness as tumblr. But without the problems :)
Procedure: On a piece of paper (small enough to fit in the bowl of water) write down any difficulties youāve recently faced, any worries you have, and/or anything else that is negatively impacting you. Drop the paper in the bowl and stir counterclockwise until the ink has blurred completely or you feel enough time has passed. As you stir, picture the negative energy of the words you wrote being banished. Dispose of the water and paper.
On a second sheet of paper, write about your hopes and ideas for the future, or any activities youād like to accomplish this season. Burn that paper in the fireproof bowl. Scatter the ashes outside.Ā
This is a spell from my old blog that Iām still proud of and itās relevant today, soooo Iāll just leave this here.
Stop saying you donāt have money. Stop it. Stop speaking spells over your life. Words mean so much. When you feel frustrated about financial things, say this:
Money comes to me easily and frequently.
Repeat it till you calm down. Then get to work to meet the universe halfway. You put it out there. Now make it happen. It worked for me. You can do it to. Money comes easily and frequently. Say it, believe it, make it happen.
Okay witches, check this out: It is totally fine to learn from and appreciate other cultures and practices, but not okay to appropriate them. Like, maybe a Native American shaman can teach you how to perform a proper smudging, but that doesnāt mean you can call on their ancestors to help you out. Like, you got your own ancestors; use them. Maybe a Voodoo practitioner can teach how to make a gris gris bag, but that doesnāt mean you know how to contact their deities and show them the proper respect. The point Iām trying to make is that you can appreciate without appropriating. Just respect the cultures and heritage of other people.
Magic is not yours to censor. It belongs to everyone, not just one culture. Same goes with the gods.
No. Many practices are closed and if youāre not initiated or born into them you keep your grubby hands off. Show some respect.
Youāre absolutely retarded. Magick is a natural process, to try and keep people away from it just because they were not born into it is like discriminating because of race, gender or sexual orientation. Get fucking real.
āRetardedā? That word alone lets me know your argument is trash. There are types open for everyone. You donāt get to just take things because you want them like a selfish toddler. Some things are not for you and never will be. Screaming that you deserve them even though youāre not part of the tradition and have not been allowed into it by those closed cultures means that you donāt care about anything but taking things from other people.
You donāt get to do what you want. Thatās life. Some specific practices simply donāt belong to you and you can either act like a grown up and deal with it, or prepare for some backlash to your tantrums. You donāt deserve other peopleās things just because you want them
@thelonewarlock, Why are you getting so mad because some practices are closed? Also, I would like to point out that the meaning of the word warlock is āoath-breakerā, referring to someone who has betrayed their coven to practice dark magick, yet you say you follow the right-hand path. So you clearly donāt know enough about the magick you practice to be trying learn somebody elseās. Educate yourself and get back to me .
PS some practices were literally forged by people of color to survive white supremacy and colonialism so if youāre being an entitled asshole and trying to call on ancestors/gods that routinely work against people like you then lol good luck with that energy šš½
but you realize that as a white american you have nowhere else to go, because the Norse gods arent yours the Irish gods arent yours the Greek the Egypt gods the Slavic Gods, you have nothing. If you say taht all white people can use all parts of white cultures you are hypocritical and racist and admit its not about culture its just about segregation.
I see it more as a question of connectivity.
As a Slavic person I know my spirits and they know me, if I would try to connect to Greek deities for example I think it would take a lot of time and work to build this connection but when there is one you can use it just like any native person.
Means if you feel the call of any sort of deity BUILD that connection and you can be a part of them as they can become a part of you.
ābut you realize that as a white american you have nowhere else to goā
Ok but whooooose fault is that? Whose Fault is that?? WhOsE faULt is ThAt?
Like yeah we all get it that white Americans got chopped from their roots the moment they decided to colonize this country and send either criminals or people of non-nature based faiths here so yeah you guys are chopped and guess what? Thatās your problem
But also donāt speak for all white Americans because I have friends that are like second-third generation Scottish/Irish and instead of using crocodile tears to excuse some type of entitlement to other practices cause they might be more Americanized than their parents, they do the work to reconnect with their ancestors and traditions.
Also im eye rolling at all this cause my whole blog is how connecting with local nature can help you find your own faith. Even though Iām half Haitian, vodou is a practice that occurs within a community and takes work and initiation to become apart of. I canāt just start practicing it. Even if I did know about any French folk magic practices I canāt dive into it cause folk magic tends to do with the immediate land surrounding them and the spirits that are attached to that land and people. Thatās why practitioners of paths like vodou or mugyo travel to their homeland to practice it or folk practices have so much to do with the region it stems from.
Like yes there are little things from every culture thatās ok to use like I use lenormand that is French so I feel a little bit of a connection to my other half but if you feel disconnected the answer isnāt going into someone elseās shit to take what you want itās digging your hands into the earth and reconnecting yourself. Itās making an eclectic path and rebuilding your roots. If you ever felt a need to do magic in the first place that magnetism will always be there where magic can always be found which is simply nature. And through that entities local to the area will work with you if you care about working with stuff like that. You need to rebuild your own home instead of busting into somebody elseās and using their shit.
Discourse aside, this is my first post to reach 1000 notes
Was it a coincidence that both day 14 – the last day of the shadowork challenge – and my last meditation practice both fell on the new moon? Who knows
From an ask I got: āWhat is your experience with emoji spells? I noticed you said something about the energy construction of one a while ago⦠could you elaborate on this? :oā
So. In this article Iāll be talking about spells that are cast/strengthened when someone reblogs them on tumblr, the most common forms being emoji spells and sigil images.
NOTE: This is talking about the power of the spell itself before the usersā/castersā ābelief energyā is added. And, this is about the majority of internet sigils/spells so obviously not all spells that are cast/charged on reblog.Ā
For ācast on reblogā spells such as emoji spells and sigil images, for them to have adequate power with increasing reblogs, the construction of their energy needs to be solid and able to handle the amount of ārequestsā. If the construction isnāt solid, it will just collapse once it starts gaining a lot of notes because it gets overwhelmed by too much energy OR too little energy.
Most emoji spells do not have sufficient energy construction to handle more than about 50 notes.
A real-life example of this would be wifi. Say, a place only has wifi for 50 people. If 300 people come in trying to get on the wifi, it crashes and either/all: 1) NOBODY gets wifi, 2) the wifi will constantly switch between people, being strong for a few seconds then going super weak for the next hour, or 3) everyone gets wifi but itās slow as SHIT.
I have a couple theories as to why that is:
Rituals often work because the act of creating and doing the ritual builds sufficient energy pathways for the casting. The time and energy put into creating the ritual, then the following time placed into casting the ritual creates energy constructions (whether temporary or permanent on some other astral layer) which allow the energy raised from the ritual to be gathered and sent efficiently and effectively. These rituals use items which already have thousands of years of ritual symbolism to draw power from (examples: candles, incense, herbs) and/or (if you believe in animism) the spirits of those items have thousands of years of experience in casting spells.
However on the flip-side, emoji spells only take a few seconds to make, AND they use symbolism (emojis) that do not have that thousands of years of ritual history. Additonally, the majority of emojis are used rather straightforward: for example, the rabbit emoji. Do the majority of people send rabbit emojis to represent, say, good luck? No. They use it to perhaps talk about how cute rabbits are, or about their pet rabbit, etc. Thus, the historical symbolism energy isnāt as closely connected. Of course, there are a couple with symbolic exceptions such as the eggplant or the finger pointing left combined with the ok hand.
Without this time and energy used to create the spell, thousands of years of ritual history, and popular use that does not relate to the common magic symbolism at all, there is very little energy used to make a sufficient energy construction without additional effort put and/or in active energy work..
Additionally, energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed to another form.Ā Since the majority of emoji spells are written with little energy expense, they can only cast really weak spells. You get out what you put in, and if you donāt put in much, well, you arenāt gonna get much. Especially when everyone else is not putting much in but trying to get stuff out.Ā
āSo does that mean, youāre not just ragging on emoji spells/sigils that are ālikes charge/reblogs castā and you actually want to offer advice on how to potentially make emoji spells that arenāt weak as fuck and implode when they get over 50 notes?ā Yes, absolutely!
How to Strengthen Cast on Reblog Spells:
Rather than ā(emoji emoji emoji) for X, likes charge, reblogs cast!ā or just posting the sigil, consider writing the symbolism of what each emoji/part of the sigil represents on the post.
This is part of that ritual effort I mentioned earlier. The act of writing out rituals and deciding what each and every thing means and why will add to the energy construction. Under your emojis/your sigil, add a paragraph or two explaining the symbolism and why. The energy spent writing that aids in the energetic construction of the spell.
Has anyone said why likes āchargeā? (Reblogs casting is obvious).
Yeah, you click the little heart to add it to your likes and expend a teensy bit of energy in doing so. Spells take energy to cast, but does simply liking something really give sufficient energy for a spell?* Because energy cannot be created or destroyed, you are only getting those teensy bits of energies; no gigantic amount. People say ālikes chargeā but how can things become collectively āchargedā when everyone that uses it is simultaneously draining energy??
Additionallyā¦When you ālikeā something on tumblr, it gets added to a cesspool of likes which stay with you forever, until you decide to āunlikeā it. This could have connotations that the spell is always active until you unlike it. HOWEVER, that is the ideal and not what happens (since the spells run out of energy and simply implodes on itself).
So, since liking something takes very little energy to do and for the most part expends energy rather than chargesā¦.itās a pretty shitty charging method.
I mean, I guess you could click the like button a billion times?? Tho. Most people only click the like button once ;Vc
*Again, refer to the NOTE at the beginning saying that this article is talking about the power of the spell prior to someone else adding their belief energy to it.
Have it run on electricity energy.
Whenever you use tumblr, youāre using electricity as that electricity is powering your phone/computer. So. Why not have those spells draw some power from electricity? Bam. Additional power source.
Have it draw energy from the energy used to scroll.
Scrolling through your dash takes energy too, though a minor amount. Have it draw energy from the small kinetic energy released as people scroll past the post.
With direct energy work, design energy channels to be able to handle a lot of attention/large influxes of energy.
The simplest way to do this is to simply fill the post with energy while holding the intent of making it able to handle large amounts of energy (likes/reblogs/whatever). Most of the energy should be concentrated at the sigil/emojis/etc. Simply sending the energy with intent will do it automatically, similarly to enchanting.
A more advanced addition to this would be to create energy channels linking the sigil/emojis/etc and the like and reblog buttons. Create the channels then widen them by continously sending energy to increase their size. Simply visualize poles/threads/rivers connecting them, then see them getting wider, larger, and stronger as you send more energy to them.
Those are some suggestions to make cast on reblog spells stronger. This article will be expanded as more methods are thought of.Ā
