Made this because of yet another Tumblr fiasco! Im a queer witch trying to find a new home that offers the same quirkyness as tumblr. But without the problems :)
Sometimes we don’t connect with our decks or hardly ever use them. Here are some ways to use those decks you don’t use!
🌟 Gift them! Someone who’s beginning divination or someone who enjoys a good tarot or oracle deck would love to have that deck, no doubt! It would be an awesome holiday gift or just a nice surprise for someone who appreciates divination!
🌟 Make art with them! You can put them in picture frames and hang them in your room, add them to your grimoire or book of shadows, make a collage, and whatever else you want! Tarot and oracle decks are beautiful and they can be great pieces of art.
🌟 Create a game with them! You can easily incorporate tarot and oracle cards into board games, playing card decks, and other games for something fun and new!
🌟 Use them in spells! Tarot and oracle cards are a great way to empower spells and you could even make them into charms!
🌟 Make a vision board! Use the cards on a poster or cork board to describe the future that you wish to have. Not only would it be gorgeous, but it’d remind you of who you strive to be!
🌟 Use the deck to create a thoughtform! Picking what cards you want, you can channel that energy and make a thoughtform who could help you in your craft.
🌟 Use the cards as offerings! Take what cards you want and lay them out on an altar or another place and offer those cards to a deity or whoever you want! It’d be a great and beautiful offering and I’m sure it’d be appreciated.
🌟 Use the deck to bring fruitful dreams! Take what cards you want and place them under your pillow to bring dreams that relate to those cards. This way, you don’t have to be too afraid of crumpling the cards and you can give a use to the deck!
A dear friend of mine is dealing with painful chronic medical conditions. I have put together this spell to help combat the side effects of her conditions while she and her doctors experiment with management options.
No magic is able to completely heal you, but I think that magic is able to support the mundane healing processes that you are implementing. If you are seriously sick, please go to a doctor or a hospital if it is an immediate risk.
What you need:
Clear quartz point
Candle (white, green [comfort], or blue [healing])
Something to represent that person
A pencil or another carving tool
Allspice and rosemary, incense (optional)
Get started:
1. Take your candle and carve what you wish to send out to your friend. In my white tea light, I carved “health”, “comfort” and a small heart. Remember to trim the wick if it’s a new candle! Practice fire safety!
2. Place the representation of your friend in front of you, and aim the quartz point at them (I used a stone and her name/symbols on a folded piece of paper). I had two quartz points on hand so I used multiple, but one is just as fine! It also might be useful to sit facing the direction that they are in (my friend lives in a city west of me, so I was facing west).
3. You can put down the herbs, or burn relevant healing incense if you want to include all of your senses. My candle is unscented so I used some herbs.
4. Light the candle when things are in place.
5. Recite:
Illness return to earth to be digested
Illness will not surface until pure and undirected
May the autumn molds hold
And illness help bring the cold
Yet friends and love stay warm
(I only chose this wording because it’s autumn and it lays out a timeline. The illness seeps back into the ground, is processed and will come back to help the plants die with the coming winter, turning illness’ toxicity into something more useful.)
6. Let the candle burn until the carved words are melted and cast. You can also visualize your friend healing, being comfortable, being surrounded by white light, or whatever images you feel will help. You can then blow out the candle or let it burn out on its own.
Alternatives:
Candle: write your intention on a piece of paper and place it under an electric candle.
Element: instead of fire, you can write your intention (or the word “illness”) on a piece of paper and bury it, literally returning it to the earth.
Rather than making myself a wand, I painted a vertebrae with sigils pertinent to my craft and embedded a quartz point in the bone to hold in my hand and gain energy for spellwork.
This is the second time I’ve done a spell to prevent rain so it doesn’t mess up summer plans, and like last time, the results were practically immediate. Around an hour after I did a spell to keep the sun out for at least the next two days, my brother comes up and says the weather changed, and now the next three days will be clear skies. So like, 👌🏾👌🏾💯💯
Sometimes just believing you’ve been cursed, even if you haven’t, can be enough to bring about some gross junk into your life. However, sometimes bad things just happen with no explanation or reason.
I believe it is important that your friend really think out why he believes someone cursed him – has he pissed off a witch recently? Has someone hinted at that prospect? If not, I am sure he is fine.
(a decoy acts as a “substitute” for you, where the curse will be redirected to instead of harming you; the decoy can then be cleansed or destroyed to remove the curse from it)
