coming into 2018 all I want is every aspect of my life to be genuine. genuine love and connections. genuine intentions. genuine curiosity. genuine happiness. I want everything about me and my soul to be genuine and I want it to radiate throughout everything I do, think or say.
Give them necklaces of amber to wear to prevent teething pain and sickness. (I swear by this. My daughter got a double ear infection when she was 5 months old and I had fully intended on giving her the antibiotics prescribed to her because as a young mom I was just doing as told. I cleansed her necklace and she wore it that night and I put a piece under her mattress and she woke up the next day totally healed and I mean TOTALLY HEALED. I wanted to give her the medicine but just felt it was unnecessary at that point. She was totally healthy. I thank the amber for it. I’m certainly not promoting risking your child’s health in place of a crystal, but I’m just mentioning my own personal experience with my daughter.)
Enchant their necklace with a charm to mind their manners.
Tell bedtime stories about beautiful witch women and handsome witch men who save the day.
Celebrate when the moonflowers and morning glories bloom.
Charge their bath water with quartz.
Elderberry tea for upset tummies!
Place quartz crystals at the four corners beneath their bed for protection and clarity.
Remember, there are some crystals that are too powerful for young children! And vice versa. Some kids are too powerful for some crystals. What I mean is this: I had a boss at a bar I worked at who was a shaman, and when she was pregnant with her youngest son if she carried certain crystals with her or was near them in her house, she would get very sick and he, as a developing fetus would get very worked up inside her. He has a very powerful spirit.
Some essential oils are too dangerous for kids as well! Peppermint, juniper, and some eucalyptus are examples. Peppermint for instance contains menthol which, in adults, slows breathing. In children under 10 it can STOP breathing.
This post was more serious than my last because my other one got so much attention I wanted to point out this time there’s more that you can do as a witch for your kids than just the fun things!
You’re a mystic who runs a shop full of mysterious artifacts and potions and you’re sick of uninformed middle-aged suburban moms asking for energy crystals and herbal weight-loss mixtures while throwing around made-up terms.
When a middle-aged woman rolled into my shop and told me she
was looking for ichor, I didn’t think much of it at first.
You get all kinds in a shop like mine, and doubly so when
you put up the right signs on your door.
The signs that let certain kinds of people know they’re welcome, not
just the collectors or the curious or the new age mystics, looking for this
root or that crystal or wanting to gawk at a jar of old bones, but the less
innocuous individuals as well. The kind
who mean business when they come looking for their… less run-of-the-mill
specialities.
for any unhealthy relationships, friendships, or thoughts about a person that you wish to be rid of.
what you’ll need:
a white candle
a black candle (if you have one, if not another white will suffice)
salt (of any kind)
paper
pen/pencil
Reversed Devil Tarot Card (if you don’t own this, you can print a photo of it or look it up online and use that. make sure it is upside down)
1. Light your two candles and place the reversed devil between them.
2. Write the persons name on the piece of paper, focusing on that person as you do.
3. Cover the paper with salt.
4. Focus on your intent, and speak “I wish to release any energy that you have over me. Let it be gone, let your presence over my life cease to exist.”
5. End the spell however you feel best, with whatever words you typically use to close a spell.
6. blow out the candles, discard of the salt (can be reused again for the same type of spell) and throw away the name as it has no hold over you anymore.
The reason I chose to use salt is because of its ability to cleanse energy from an object completely, good or bad. The Devil Reversed signifies breaking free from an addiction and reclaiming your own power. This spell can be strengthened however you see fit, and if you want to make any changes, please feel free to do so! Witchcraft is about what makes the witch most comfortable!
This is a simple spell. All you need is a glass jar and a spider who you have just found invading your house space.
Most people run to their shoe closet, but saving these critters isn’t just good for conscious and the environment.
It gives you a free question.
As with anything that gives you a free wish or question: choose yours with care.
This question HAS to involve one of these things. Magic, creativity or intuition. This is not a wish so you can’t ask for more magic powers, but you can ask how to get said powers. You can also ask what project to do next or how to make am intuitive decision that has been plaguing you recently.
Now mind you, this spider MUST be an invader in your home. You can’t just snag a spider from outside, toss it in your house and expect a question of them. That terribly rude and honestly hope there is bad juju for that kind of nonesense.
When you find said uninvited guest carefully slip her into a save container (Mason jars are perfect for this). While you get your shoes on think of the question.
Then, as you are taking the spider outside to a safe place (foliage is best) mentally or audibly explain to the spider that she was an invader of your personal space and you had all rights to kill her (she would understand because that’s how she lives her life). But instead you are doing her a favor by rescuing her from your space.
While you’re in the act of releasing her ask your question, mentally or audibly.
Your answer will appear within 1 to 6 days so keep your eyes open.
I got this spell ‘Magical Housekeeping’ by Tess Whitehurst, an awesome book for those who need a little spark in cleaning up thier house.
when someone loves you – really loves you – treat them gently. text your best friend back when you can. tell your mother you noticed her haircut and that she was right about that recipe. tell your grandfather that the boats in his bottles are the best things you’ve ever seen. be good to the people who are good to you. it’s the least you can do.
