my girl poured her diva cup out into her plant and now the plant’s alive again her pussy voodoo

I have questions…

this is green consciousness and ecofeminism

Period blood is full of nutrients and can act as a plant fertilizer. Which isn’t much help if you use disposables like pads and tampons, BUT if you use moon cups you can pour them onto your plant OR if you use reusable pads you can soak/rinse them in warm water before you wash them and pour that water onto your plants.

Stop being scared of ya own blood 2k18. Do magic. Revive plants. Curse enemies.

Woah, plant tip of the year!

Wonderful fuckin post

it’s all you americans talk about… liminal space this… cryptid that

america is big, we got.,.,.,. its a lot happening here

It’s at least 3,000 miles just from the East Coast to the West, depending on where you start.

If I try to drive from here in Maine to New Mexico, it’s 2,400 miles.

From here to Oregon, 800 miles from my current residence to my relatives in NJ, then another 3,000 miles after that.

A brisk 8 day drive that meanders through mountains, forests, corn fields, dry, flat, empty plains, more mountains, and then a temperate rain forest in Oregon.

The land has some seriously creepy stuff, even just right outside our doors.

There is often barking sounds on the other side of our back door.

At 3 am.

When no one would let their dog out.

It’s a consensus not to even look out the fucking windows at night.

Especially during the winter months.

Nothing chills your heart faster than sitting in front of a window and hearing footsteps breaking through the snow behind you, only to look and not see anything.

I live in a tiny town whose distance from larger cities ranges from 30 miles, to 70 miles. What is in between?

Giant stretches of forests, swamps, pockets of civilization, more trees, farms, wildlife, and winding roads. All of which gives the feeling of nature merely tolerating humans, and that we are one frost heave away from our houses being destroyed, one stretch of undergrowth away from our roads being pulled back into the earth.

And almost every night, we have to convince ourselves that the popping, echoing gunshot sounds are really fireworks, because we have no idea what they might be shooting at.

There’s a reason Stephen King sets almost all his stories in Maine.

New Mexico, stuck under Colorado, next to Texas, and uncomfortably close to Arizona. I grew up there. The air is so dry your skin splits and doesn’t bleed. Coyotes sing at night. It starts off in the distance, but the response comes from all around. The sky, my gods, the sky. In the day it is vast and unfeeling. At night the stars show how little you truly are.

This is the gentle stuff. I’m not going to talk about the whispered tales from those that live on, or close, to the reservations. I’m not going to go on about the years of drought, or how the ground gives way once the rain falls. The frost in the winter stays in the shadows, you can see the line where the sun stops. It will stay there until spring. People don’t tell you about the elevation, or how thin the air truly is. The stretches of empty road with only husks of houses to dot the side of the horizon. There’s no one around for miles except those three houses. How do they live out here? The closest town is half an hour away and it’s just a gas station with a laundry attached.

No one wants to be there. They’re just stuck. It has a talent for pulling people back to it. I’ve been across the country for years, but part of me is still there. The few that do get out don’t return. A visit to family turns into an extended stay. Car troubles, a missed flight, and then suddenly there’s a health scare. Can’t leave Aunt/Uncle/Grandparent alone in their time of need. It’s got you.

Roswell is a joke. A failed National Inquirer article slapped with bumperstickers and half-assed tourist junk. The places that really run that chill down the spine are in the spaces between the sprawling mesas and hidden arroyos. Stand at the top of the Carlsbad Caverns trail. Look a mile down into the darkness. Don’t step off the path. just don’t.

The Land of Entrapment

here in minnesota we’re making jokes about how bad is the limescale in your sink

pretending we don’t know we’re sitting on top of limestone caverns filled with icy water

pretending we don’t suspect something lives down there

dammit jesse now I want to read about the things that live down there

meanwhile in maryland the summer is killing-hot, the air made of wet flannel, white heat-haze glazing the horizon, and the endless cicadas shrilling in every single tree sound like a vast engine revving and falling off, revving and falling off, slow and repeated, and everything is so green, lush poison-green, and you could swear you can hear the things growing, hear the fibrous creak and swell of tendrils flexing

and sometimes in the old places, the oldest places, where the salt-odor of woodsmoke and tobacco never quite go away, there is unexplained music in the night, and you should not try to find out where it’s coming from.

@gallusrostromegalus

The intense and permanent haunting of a land upon which countess horrors have been visited, and that is too large and wild for us to really comprehend is probably the most intense and universal American feeling.

I live in a region home to 7-8 MILLION people. Said region also has MORE protected land the yosemite national park. This urbanized place, I repeat, has more protected land then a national park up in the California mountains.

But in the last 50 years, the acreage of the Bay Area’s regional and
county parks has also grown significantly, so that today, the inventory
of protected lands stands at more than 1.3 million acres—a swath of land
that, if combined, would be larger than one-and-a-half times the size
of Yosemite National Park.

source:

This land is wild. There is a stretch of coast here around 10 – 15 miles south of SF, that becomes a road with no gas stations for 20 – 30 plus miles.

Some Basic Spirit Work Things (for beginners)

-Not all spirits are evil

-Not all spirits are good, either

-Not all demons are bad or evil

-Some demons are really cool and make awesome friends!

-Some demons want to kill you and do bad things to you

-Along the same lines, hellbeings can be very nice or very mean

-Some spirits look scary but are actually very kind

-Some spirits look sweet/cute but actually want to hurt you in the worst ways

-Not everything is black or white, evil or good, apples or bananas. Sometimes spirits can be in between, or off the charts completely.

-(The previous statement applies to their moral alignment, their ethics, their friendliness, their desire to hurt humans, and pretty much anything else)

-Spirit work is really fucking dangerous, but there are ways to be safe.

-Yes, spirits can affect your physical body. It happens, good or bad.

-Wards. Look up warding. Get a good handle on warding before you start practicing spirit work.

-Spirits are actual beings, which means that they have thoughts, feelings, and lives outside of you and yours.

-Safety should probably be your #1 priority in spirit work, unless you really have a death wish for yourself (or enjoy being in immense pain… I’m not going to judge)

-Spirits and spirit work are probably going to be different than your expectations.

-The spirit world is much different than ours, but can also be quite similar!

-Once you start working with spirits, more tend to show up. You kind of send out a signal that attracts other spirits once you flip that spirit working switch to the on position. Not all of them are going to be friendly.

-Spirits can be dirty lying decievers, but they can also be your best and closest friend, depending on which ones you meet. And sometimes you’ll think a spirit is ur best friend just to find out, days/months/years later, that they’re actually a dirty lying deciever! Don’t trust them right away!

Feel free to add on (or correct me)!

why are my dream posts getting notes

ive had weirder dreams. I think the best weirdest one was a reoccurring nightmare I used to have as kid. do yall wanna hear it

image

ok *cracks knuckles* here goes.

DREAM 1

when we first moved to my childhood home, the house was already kinda old. (it used to belong to my dad’s boss) the house already had a couple of furniture including some beds, dining set etc. Except for the bedroom, the rest aren’t really important so here’s a little sketch of a part of the house’s floor plan

image

we turned the smaller bedroom into a guest room and the bigger bedroom into a kids’ room so we moved the bed to storage and replaced it with a bunch of smaller beds.

Anyway, one of the first nights, I had a dream where I was standing in the bigger bedroom with a bunch of people in uniform. The big bed was back where it was but there’s a pool of blood in it. I overheard one of the cops mentioning something about a body not being found. Suddenly, I looked at the open door and saw the mirror in the guest room. In the reflection, there was a girl lying on the floor staring at me.

image

Since then, I was always afraid of the guest room.

I hated the house at first. I always thought it was haunted. There was also a giant tree in front of the house that was believed to be housed by spirits. (While playing there, I was told by some guy.. I think he was a gardener.. he saw my mom offer the tree some home cooked meal as a sort of peace offering but that’s a story for another time).

DREAM 2

For some reason, I was standing in the laundry room. I heard someone say “hey” and when I turned around, someone was hiding behind one of the clothes.

image

she continued to say “hey” as I started to approach her but then I woke up

The girl somehow started appearing in some of my dreams and every time she was playing a different role: a neighbor, a classmate, a friend, a stranger. She was older and had long black hair. She was always wearing white. At that time, I never even noticed how often she occurred in my dreams. I kinda just accepted it.

DREAM 3

The cops were back, walking around in my bedroom. The girl wasn’t there. I realized I was late for class so I ran outside. The street was littered with mutilated hands.

image

For some reason, I picked up one of the hands and tried to wash it with a gardening hose until it stopped bleeding. I don’t remember the rest of the dream.

DREAM 4

Remember I mentioned there was a large old tree in front of our house? It more or less looked like this:

I used to be scared of it especially at night because it looked like a giant hand in the darkness. Behind it was a wall and on the other side of the wall was a river. I always wondered what the river looked like but I never found until I was in high school and I was finally tall enough to see the other side (while standing on a chair).

Anyway, it was summer vacation and I had a dream where I was in my room. The girl was outside standing on the roof peeking through my window and was calling me to come outside. We went to the tree and I noticed the tree now looked like it was split in half. There was no wall but just a vast expanse of water as far as the eye can see.

I still remember it vividly. It was one of the best dreams I had.

DREAM 5

image

I had a dream where the river overflowed and flooded the whole neighborhood. I thought my parents were somewhere in the neighborhood basket ball court so I swam there but when I reached the area, there was nobody there. The creepy thing was that the whole time, I was being followed around by some guy I didn’t know.

DREAM 6

Near our house was an old factory. I used to hang out there with my other friends until our parents forbade us cause it was dangerous (obviously). One night, I dreamed I was walking by the factory and I heard someone call me from way above on the factory rooftop. She was sitting there by a really long ladder and urged me to climb on top.

image

When I reached the roof, suddenly there was just a land of rooftops that stretched towards the horizon. I followed her into a rooftop window which lead to the inside of the factory. Inside were just some machinery and a pier leading to the ocean in my last dream.  There was a large chain (the ones you see on large ships) attached to the pier leading to something that looks like another factory in the horizon.  She mentioned something about going there by walking on the chain but then I woke up.

Although she still reappeared in a lot of my dreams, I don’t really remember them as much as I vividly remember these ones. The last vivid dream I’ve had of her, we were classmates. She told me to be careful.

DREAM 7

this wasn’t really much of a dream but more like a dream where you’re awake?? I’m not sure what you call it. I was just under the sheets and I heard her whispering close to my ear that my mom is heading to my room and that I should get up soon.

Soon after, my mom opened the door and told me to get ready for school. I don’t remember how or at which point I woke up.

DREAM 8

I was walking home from school when I saw the man who was following me in another dream just standing there on the side. He was holding a knife.

I avoided his stare and quickly walked past him. I noticed he was starting to follow me so I ran. Before I knew it, he caught me and there was a knife in my back. I woke up.

That was the last vivid dream I ever had involving the man.

Okay, so years and years after. My dad finally retired. We wanted to move to a new place in a better neighborhood that was nearer to the city. It was a long process which involved lots of packing. I didn’t realized we had so much stuff and we had to leave some of our things behind. Strangely enough, our fridge suddenly stopped working. After that, two of our air conditioners. Our tv, then the couch suddenly split in half. We ended up leaving them all. My mom, like a passing thought, said maybe the house spirit was finally retiring too and I looked at her like she was crazy. Then my brother said “oh thank god. I thought I was the only one who thought there was a ghost in here” It turned out, we were all aware that the house might have been haunted but nobody wanted to point it out.

On the day of the move, we all said goodbye to the house as well as the “house spirit”. I called out to the ceiling that the house spirit could move in together with us if they wanted.

A few months later, my brother and our dad went to the house to check up on it. He said he overheard one of my dad’s friends mention that nobody wanted to come near it. It just gave off that weird feeling. Like someone was staring from out the window. The house is gonna be torn down soon.

The girl stopped appearing in my dreams since then.

Local Forest Deities

One subject that I incorporate into my craft are local deities. What are local deities? Local deities are guardians and protectors of specific places such as a specific forest, mountain range, river, or even a specific city. They can come or manifest them in many different forms or none at all. Everything within the entirety of it’s domain is its eyes and ears.

But this post is specifically about local forest deities. If you’re lucky, you might be able to catch them manifested as a huge gorgeous deer, an hawk who’s gaze seems to pierce right through you or maybe even as a huge, seemingly ancient tree that you swear that you can see it breathing.

The forest deity, as the name suggests, watches over the forest and all its inhabitants. The way you treat the forest can be the difference between suffering the fate of a forever lost traveler, who can only seem to walk in circles, and having a safe voyage through to your destination.

If you go out of your way to help protect and conserve the forest, you might just gain the respect of the deity. If you’re particularly devoted and deemed trustworthy, it is possible to have a relationship with them, working together for the forest.

Here are some ways to help gain respect:

  • Pick up litter
  • Report poachers (it’s super dangerous to approach them so please don’t)
  • Organize an event to plant some NATIVE trees*. Do your research. It would be wise to contact your local conservation group
  • Meditate in the forest. Try to feel the breath and whispers of the forest
  • If you find a unnaturally injured animal (caught in trap, hit by car, shot and left to die, etc) DO NOT INTERACT WITH THEM but rather call you’re local animal rehabilitation unit**.

*I can not emphasize how it important it is to not plant non-native flora. It can seriously harm the entirety of that ecosystem and can wipe out complete species of fauna/flora there

**Touching or interacting with wild animals is really bad and sometimes illegal. It can seriously stress them out which can be deadly to them and/or you. If an animal is injured, the consequences will be much worse.

Local spirits always appreciate it when I pick up trash. Nearly every time I do it, they give me some kind of gift in return. One time it was a $5 bill 😁😁

“Let Love Find Me” Spell

pomegranateandivy:

This is an old spell of mine, I haven’t used it in almost four years. that’s because I did this spell, then before a year was up I started dating my wonderful boyfriend, and we’ve been together two and a half years now, and plan on being together until our souls fade into nothing.

What You’ll Need:

  • A small-ish jar that can be sealed/closed
  • Some small pieces of rose quartz (or another stone you associate strongly with love)
  • Columbine flowers
  • Apple seeds
  • Something representing you (some hair, your name on a slip of paper, a few drops of your blood, something of yours, though you may not get it back for a long time)
  • Oil of your preference (I used almond)
  • Wax, color depends on what kind of love you’re looking for

I did mine on the winter solstice, though you can do it any time really. I recommend something that represents only the potential for growth from here on out though. I picked the solstice because it’s the shortest day of the year, and the world could only move into spring and growth from that point, until the summer solstice obviously, but we aren’t going to get into full season logistics here.

  • Combine all the spell components in your jar, concentrating on how you want to find someone to love, who loves you back, and let that relationship grow in a healthy way.

Rose quartz represents love. Columbine is for love, but also kind of a permanent love…think once in a life time. Apple seeds are for love, and growth. People don’t always fall suddenly in love, sometimes you just need to be patient enough for it to grow, and that’s where the apple seeds come in. All of these things are in the jar surrounding/mingling with the object that represents you. This is designed to surround you with love, and it keeps the spell focused clearly on you. You fill the jar with enough oil to cover everything, and close the lid or pop a cork in it. The oil serves two purposes. One, almonds are associated with love as well, so you’re covering everything in love, soaking it in it, BAM! Two, everything inside the jar is less likely to rot. If your flowers aren’t dry, they can go moldy, cover it in oil and it’s like those jars of oil and garlic cloves on your grandma’s counter, only thing wrong with those is they’re dusty. Once it’s all closed up with everything inside, seal the top of the jar with wax. I used black wax because I wanted to find the kind of love I where I would die for the other person. Not Romeo & Juliet kind of die where they both just throw their lives away, but the “I would take a bullet for you, push you out of the way of a bus, put my own life in danger to save you” kind of love.

Now, a little explanation. I had known my boyfriend a long time before we started dating. I had liked him, and asked him out, and he told me no. A few years later, I asked him out again, and he told me he just wanted to be friends. That was it, end of story. Well, by that time, I knew I was falling in love with him, but I wanted to respect him. I knew at that time, the only way I would get over him was to either cut him out of my life entirely (which I couldn’t stand the thought of doing), or to find someone else to love. So, I did this spell. I did it with the hopes and intentions of finding someone else to fall in love with so I could forget him and just go on being good friends. Eleven months later, I asked him to go with me to see my Great-Grandma before she died, and meet my family. He said we should probably decide how we were going to introducing him to my family. I told him however he wanted, that I was fine telling them the truth: that he’s my best friend I love him dearly. He said it would be easier to just tell them he was my boyfriend, since it wouldn’t take as many words to say the same thing.

While it could have been serendipitous, and just pure dumb luck mixed with good timing….I think that sometimes magic works like that. I honestly believe that this spell helped my boyfriend and I both see just how much the other meant to us, and that we couldn’t imagine a future without the other person in it. That’s why this is my favorite spell of all time. Gods willing I will never get the urge to cast it ever again, but it holds a special place in my heart. Especially since the spell jar had still been perfectly in tact when he and I went for breakfast and ended up dating, but the next morning when I got up, it was completely covered in mold on the inside. The spell had been used up, it had completed it’s purpose, and I didn’t need it anymore. That’s how I knew it was magic. (also, that is the clearest sign I have ever gotten that a spell worked, undoubtedly)
