Here’s a few ways to make every single day a witchy day.
Go for a walk where you will be surrounded by nature (whether it be the local park or forest or beach) and smell some flowers or collect some dirt/shells.
Press some flowers to decorate your journal (or book of shadows).
Light a candle.
Light a bunch of candles.
Make some natural toothpaste or deodorant to replace your regular one, feel a difference?
Sunbathe.
Moonbathe.
Put your green thumb to good use and start an herb garden in your kitchen or garden.
Harvest from your plant babies and dry/store them for using in your magic (make sure you give thanks and give them an offering in return.)
Cleanse the space with some incense or just by sweeping.
Take a bath with some herbs, petals and bath salts. Soak in all the scents and charge yourself.
Make yourself some really good tea and practice your tasseomancy.
Give your fur baby some love and do a spell for them or enchant something of theirs.
Put sachets of fragrant herbs all over the house.
Weave some magic into to your knitting or cross-stitching. Make bracelets enchanted with glamours or scarves with protective sigils woven into them for your friends or for yourself.
Volunteer at your local dog/homeless shelter and maybe add some magic into their lives. Enchant some dog collars or give out some good luck in soup form.
Bless your old clothes before you give them to charity.
Maintain a journal for everyday magic and challenge yourself to do one magical thing every day.
Read lots of fiction and get creative with your magic by letting them inspire you.
Do some magic for yourself. Whether it be enchanting you favourite lipstick or necklace, to give you a little bit of a boost throughout the day.
I’ve gotten this question a couple times. It’s both, and it’s more. Other topics I’ve seen it happen with: sex magic and love magic; curses; weather magic and other magic that some believe isn’t possible; invading dreams or hag riding; etc.
The problem is more of Tumblr’s approach to witchcraft than it is with actual witchcraft. Witchcraft has no morals. Religion has morals. People have morals. On Tumblr, people make morals into strictly enforced rules. Combine this with the “No one is allowed to make a mistake” policing on this site, and the hypocrisy can lead to some really confused and disheartened beginner witches. Imagine being told you can do anything, do something, and then later receive backlash on Tumblr because you’re a “horrible person” for doing it.
This also gets tricky because there are millions of practitioners on Tumblr with millions of different paths and beliefs, so gathering you sources from many Tumblr posts can lead to contradictions. This is why I suggest people to not learn witchcraft from Tumblr alone (if they’re just starting out).
Everyone’s allowed to have morals. If you’re teaching witchcraft, though, be honest with yourself and others on what you believe can and can’t be done. And remember no one’s obligated to follow your rules.
NanoWrimo Life Update
So I fucked up yesterday and only did 500 words when it should have been 1000. I planned on doing 1250 today and tomorrow, but I ended up doing the full 1500 today and got caught up. So yay!
In other news, I haven’t done anything witchy in weeks, between nanowrimo, SAT studying, and rp-ing – which I’ve never done before, but the discord I’m in for it is full of awesome people that make it really fun. So, main point, no witchyness in ages.
Hopefully I can work on that this weekend. And all next week, because Thanksgiving Break! Yay! (But also work more on my independent book study, because AP classes are horrible. Yay!)
You might spill all of the acorn caps you’ve stuffed in your far too small pockets onto to the bathroom floor at work, thus revealing yourself to be WAY weirder than your coworkers already think you are.
Please, please when researching herbs for paganism/witchcraft, make sure you also look up its physical, botanical and chemical properties as well. Some websites seem credible but don’t put warnings about dangers of herbs/flowers/plants. Some are poisonous, some are irritants, some are abortifacient. AND NEVER INGEST HERBS/FLOWERS/PLANTS WITHOUT LEARNING EVERY POSSIBLE THING ABOUT THEM.
Thank you, this has been a PSA.
SPREADING THIS BECAUSE ITS IMPORTANT
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding this is even more important because something that is normally just fine may be very dangerous now.
