This is just a reminder for everyone, because I keep seeing this come up:

If you are not of Native blood, you do not have a spirit animal. Native American religions are closed to outsiders, and the term spirit animal is NOT interchangeable with other terms. You may have a familiar, or a patronus, but you do not have a spirit animal.

Please do not use Native terminology or beliefs if you are not of Native blood. This goes triply for sales – it is actually illegal to sell things described or tagged as “Native American” “Indian” or any Native group’s name (Cherokee, Nahuatl, ect.) if you are not a recognized member of one of those groups.

how to treat yourself like a princess ✨

– begin your days with tea and lemon (especially the mornings in which you feel the most down) in a designated tea cup

turn your space into your castle: floral prints on the walls, antique brushes and bottles, fresh flowers on the bedside table

choose a beautiful, favourite symphony to be your personal princess theme song

remember how deserving you are, even of the most simple things (i deserve to feel the sun on my skin, i deserve to take an extra-long shower today, i deserve to feel loved by myself)

every now and then, remember this simple mantra: “life is short. buy the dress.”

Quick idea I had and need to note down before I forget it:

a witch bottle designed not to harm the incoming energies (like most witch bottles seem to be with their nails, thorns and black pepper) or block them (like the protective witch bottles I’ve seen with rosemary and basil), but filter and transmute.

Somebody throwing bad luck at you? Great, you’re giving me energy, I’ll filter it and change it into a blessing.

“When life gives you lemons” sort of idea, inspired by a post I’ve seen floating around about that witches shouldn’t ground bad energy, but filter it and transmute it, because earth can only take so much negative.

one word

charcoal

seriously, charcoal filters, man

maybe also mussel shells? since they’re filter feeders? hmmmmmm…

You could crochet a net wrap around the bottle or paint a “net” around it.

Bury it in a pot of geraniums or add persimmon seeds, for change and transformation.

Could use coffee filters somehow too?

Maybe even used coffee grounds (dried or not) themselves considering that they’re used to neutralize acidity in soils?  Or sniffing them sort of purifies the sense of smell.

Hmm…. now i’m thinking because I like this idea.

I love this idea so much.

I always feel worried that I am fake, that my readings are fake and that I’m just fooling myself and my clients and it’s worse knowing that I might be doing the latter because I never want to take advantage of anyone.

I mean watching videos about “Fake psychics” and “Cold Readings” and how about cold readings are vague and apply to everyone..and now i’m paranoid that my readings are too vague even though I try to put as much detail as possible with whatever I get.

I guess this is a very common feeling with diviners and a feeling you may never get over with???

I don’t know. How can I trust myself?

I feel this so hard.

I don’t know if there is a solution, but I worry about this constantly. And I worry that people are too nice to tell me that my specific details don’t match up?

I just try to ignore it and wait for some clear evidence that I’m wrong, and address it then.

Also, I want to point out that if you aren’t intending to be a “fake psychic”… then you aren’t one. There’s self doubt, and then there’s purposefully misreading the cards and reading just body language to get a quick buck out of someone. You don’t seem like the latter, so you probably aren’t.

I’m kinda rambling haha. But I hope you know you at least aren’t alone in the first feeling: in feeling like your readings aren’t accurate.

Also also … If someone asks for a general reading, I find they typically get general advice back. It’s hard to be specific if the client isn’t being specific, you know? So keep that in mind.

At any rate, I wish you luck handling the self-doubt ><

In my experience, often what a reader reads is more on point than they realize.  The Fates have a way of revealing themselves in their own time, even when we read.  My advice is to tell your clients to ask a specific question if there’s anything specific they want to know that they don’t get out of the reading itself.  Lots of times, my clients get answers to questions they didn’t even know they had, when they let me just “do my thing,” but I always remind them of that caveat when I start.

Do you know any of any spells/jar magick that has to do with pets? (Ex, keeping them safe, a ‘return home’ thing, ect) – young-magick

Quite a few actually! I’ll try to organize this the best I can. I am also going to include some information on familiars as well too, because sometimes they go hand in hand for people with familiars.

Common courtesy among witches

Here are some key points we should all note when dealing with other witches.

  • Their path is not your path, don’t act like it is.
  • Don’t demand or feel entitled to others’ knowledge. Do your own research first before asking.
  • Don’t bash other witches paths. You don’t agree with what they follow? Don’t follow that path yourself.
  • We’ve all dealt with spells backfiring or not working, don’t sit there and make someone feel like crap because their spell didn’t work.
  • Don’t bash other witches because you disagree with their morals behind certain spellwork. They want to hex someone? Unless they’re hexing you, leave them to it.
  • Don’t bash witches who practice “dark” magic, there’s light and dark in everything. It’s all about balance.
  • Most of all, be helpful, courteous and friendly. We’re all going through this path together and we’re all siblings of the craft who need friends alike.

Addendum:

  • NEVER compare witch trials or witch hunts, from any period in history, to the Holocaust.

Tried to pledge for GLAAD but I’m broke lol, so instead of clicking an already determined amount, the cheapest of which being 25 bucks, I clicked ‘other’ and typed in $5 since I can’t spare much more than that. Except once I hit process donation, it took me back to the previous donation page, no acknowledgment that I just donated anything. Thought that maybe I put in some wrong info so I typed it all again and hit process donation. …took me back to the donation page. So either I can’t pledge/be a part of GLAAD unless I pay a minimum $25 or I just lost an extra five bucks that I shouldn’t have really spent anyway. Either way, fuck me I guess.
