September 24th, 2018: Full Moon in Aries/Sun in Libra. The Autumn Equinox Explosion!

Have you ever felt not good enough for others, Tumblr? Especially not good enough for those we care about. And because of that, have you ever gone to amazing lengths to fit in, strained yourself beyond reason, and blunted your truth to dwell inside a role for someone else? Perhaps it was for your parents, your group of friends, your work, a significant lover…or for society at large? Have you ever been pushed so hard by this unhappy restriction that you blow your top eventually, leaving the other party surprised? Just explosively vent as suddenly and violently as Krakatoa onto someone else? Especially if that someone else is “the reason” you’re shoehorned into this fake facade? And you end up going off to “do you” without permission. How could a person who claims they understand who you are do that to you?! Or it’s possible that you’re the one who’s blissfully unaware of how much you take and demand of other people what you will not give to others yourself? We all want to be appreciated in some way or another.
Then I’m willing to bet that the above image and adjoining conversation feel, look, and sound eerily familiar right now. At some point in our lives, we’ve all been Diane or Mr. Peanutbutter from the television series “BoJack Horseman”. We’ve all been caught up in relationships, either platonic, romantic, or otherwise that are imbalanced and unfair. And we’ve tried our best to make it work. We’ve purchased those rose-colored spectacles, squinting through them desperately, as we make compromise after compromise…hoping, like Diane, that Mr. Peanutbutter will see them for who they actually are and stop throwing surprise parties that are ultimately self-centered. Conversely, we also might fancy ourselves altruistic like Mr. Peanutbutter, when we’re blind to how selfishly motivated our actions towards others really are.
Two weeks ago, during the new moon in Virgo, the astrology indicated a weeding out process of lies and truth. That we’d be more disposed, in the next 30 days, to analyzing what was real in our lives and separating what was a shape-shifting illusion. But maybe, just maybe, we’ve been the illusion? Either through our drive to pursue what we think others want out of us, our complacency to not speak up when boundaries are broken, or how we allow our words and actions to hurt others because we simply can’t acknowledge who a person is…rather than who we want them to be. This toxic exchange between “me” versus “us” in our relationships is being highlighted, adjusted by Saturn, and brought back into balance for this upcoming full moon. Finally after months of brooding. And how appropriate this balancing act is since the full moon happens just two days after the start of Libra season whose job is to harmonize opposing forces!
