Why should you look into astrology?
Astrology can help you through anything in life. It can answer all your questions. It can help guide you. Exactly at the time you were born, all the planets and stars where lined up. And they all sent universal energy to you. Astrology and your birthchart is the blueprints you were born with. Your chart is the pavement, and the ground you stand on. The machine you were built into. It is the potential and the possibilities you have. What you chose to do with it is up to you. Which flowers you plant in the ground is your choice. How you’ll upgrade your machine is up to you.
How to start:
If you’re interested in astrology. First, you need to find out your chart. And for that, you need your birth date, place, and time. If you don’t have the time, you won’t have the possibility to look as deep into it as you might want to, but it’s better than nothing!
Here are some places you can calculate your birth chart. The first one is the most accurate.
Now that you have your chart. Make sure you have your chart drawing, a list of which Signs and degrees your Planets are in, a list of which Houses your Planets and Signs are, and a list of your aspects.

In picture nr. 1 is her: Natal chart drawing, planets in the signs, degrees (exmample Sun 10 degrees Gemini. The degree is between the Planet and the Sign), the aspects, and the houses. But I reccommend looking for your houses in picture 2 instead with the tables. It’s easier to understand.

Saturn minimizes everything it’s in contact with. Suppression and control. Authoritive, and leading.
Uranus is rebellion, originality, uniqueness, the genuis, bizarre.
Neptune is the subconsciousness, 6th sense, imagination, fantasy, and dreams.
Pluto is transformation. Being reborn, rising from the ashes. Magnetism. Being obsessive.
Aspects:
The aspects is how the planets interact with each other within you, and how they affect each other. Like a bunch of marbles or dominos. One starts moving, and then all the others starts too!
If you’ve done all this now, I recommend looking into your minor aspects too.
Find out if there’s anything unusual about your chart. Any stelliums or interceptions. Stelliums are when there are 3-4 or more Planets in a House or Sign. Interceptions are when a Sign is enclosed within a house. When it jumps over that Sign at the list of Signs in the Houses.
Now that you know the basics, you can go ahead and continue to explore the astro-world! Find out more about your chart, look at other peoples’ charts, try synastry, vedic, vertex, draconic, persona charts, etc. Now that you have a solid footing, the rest is a lot easier. Let the inner curiousity for knowledge lead you into new areas of deeper and more interesting astrology!

Astronomically it’s a big deal because it’s going to last for a few hours, which is a lot longer than most eclipses last (plus it’s a blood moon!) but in a spiritual/astrological sense, it’s important because during a lunar eclipse, we essentially experience an entire moon cycle in the span of one day. The moon will be completely full, New, and full again within the eclipse. A lot of people may be experiencing a ton of tension in their lives right now; overly intense emotions, feeling lost or out of touch with their lives, meaningless drama and conflict with friends and family, or just a general sense of “nothing is right and everything is falling apart.” This is because right now, the universe wants to push and burn through all of the stagnant, unused, pent up energy being held within our lives. This eclipse won’t just start a new chapter, but for many of us it will begin an entirely new way of life. We’re clearing out the old to make room for an incredible array of new things to come! At the start of the leo season, we’re gearing up to leave behind what no longer helps us, and beginning to search for and find what will. If you’ve been wanting to quit an addiction, leave a relationship, change career paths or take up an intimidating new passion, this is the time to do it! If you’ve been waiting for a sign to do something big and bold, the full moon and it’s eclipse will provide a great wave of change on which to do so. That’s just what I’m feeling anyways
Welcome to the big show! Can you feel that tension building up, Tumblr? On Friday the 27th, kicking off the last weekend of July, the stars and planets have conspired to create the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century! That’s right, it’s gonna be 3 hours and 55 mins of crazy eclipse energy! 1 hour and 42 minutes of which will stain our beloved Luna a bloody crimson. That’s because this time, the moon is plunging straight through earth’s shadow, and not just lightly grazing us.
This event won’t be visible in the Northern Hemisphere but
those in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand will get to
enjoy seeing it. Either way, the gravity off this event will be felt
worldwide, and so I encourage every magic practitioner out there to use
this energy while the energy is going hot.
Speaking of hot, let’s talk about those fiery astrological details!
First off, it’s a total lunar eclipse. It’ll be occurring in the
South Node. This means our eclipse will focus around themes of emotional
endings, baggage from the past, reminders of what we’ve already done
and have been through, and (like Saturn) decreases
possibilities. However, these possibilities were never meant to be! Ya
know, unless you can travel time 😉 People will also be revealing their
true colors as a lunar eclipse tears away all magic or psychological
glamours to reveal the ugly truth.
On the same night as the eclipse, our planet will pass between the Sun and planet Mars. This will put Mars at opposition with Earth, placing the warrior planet right next to the lunar eclipse! This Mars opposition is the best we’ve had since 2003, so it’ll be super bright, and visible. Think of that poignant symbolism! Mars is firing up the moon with the fires of it’s passion. And the moon is thusly transformed, becoming the same red as Mars itself. So with all that in mind, I can tell this is gonna be a spicy boi.
Our tempers untempered will be at peak YIKES. Mars is retrograding in the sign of Aquarius adding seething frustration or fury to the mix with our inability to take action and live our truest ideals, thus chaining our self-expression. Mars and the Moon will be present in the same sign-so again, there’s that symbolism of our unexpressed passions firing up our emotions. Mars will also be squaring Uranus so that frustration might become so inflamed that we want tear it all down. Ourselves, our way of lives, and those we think are holding us back from true self-expression. Sun opposition Mars will cause us to wanna fight externally when the battle is really inside ourselves and our own perceptions. We could risk projecting our emotional demons onto others fully convinced they’re the ones with an issue. Mars conjunct the moon lends impulsiveness, passion, or instinct to our emotions.
Mercury will be back at it with it’s shit again the day BEFORE the eclipse. That’s on the 26th. So already, we’re kinda getting boned by the stars here. And it’ll be in self-orientated, charismatic, and lead diva Leo. Ever the trickster, Mercury is fooling us into really believing in our own bullshit to the effect of having us acting like pompous jackasses to each other if our ego is challenged. We might get a little caught up in our own opinions, overreact, and say some really awful things. But perhaps these were things that have been brewing on the back burner of your heart for quite some time. Sometimes it takes getting into a heated scream match with someone who’s been taking advantage of you and asserting yourself to realize who you really are. And what you’re really about. So Mercury’s job in this retrograde is to loosen your lips so as to start some really important dialogues about Self as opposed to others.
The sun is in Leo in it’s 4th degree. And the moon is in Aquarius who’s also in it’s 4th degree. Again, we’re confronted with the ideas of our little picture and humanity’s bigger picture and what we choose to value.Do we stick to our little box of stuff or join into the large oceans of the collective? We might be challenged to quit playing certain roles in people’s lives or even quiting our own roles in our own lives to heed to the call of the future. Personal revelations will abound during this eclipse. It’s possible that these revelations will lead you to quiting an old way of life and stepping into a fresh, new one. Mercury retrograde is helping us with verbalizing what this Leo sun and Aquarius moon in four degrees is trying to show us: what roles we play with ourselves, what roles we play in other people’s lives, and what roles no longer fit who we’ve become since the solar eclipse last summer.
Venus in Virgo along with Venus trine Pluto will have us picking over the details of all our relationships and questioning whether they are healthy, loving connections worth our emotional intensity and efforts. So underlying this hot anger and feeling chained to relationships that no longer serve, is the overwhelming need to feel appreciated for who we are by our friends and lovers. And if we aren’t appreciated, what’s the point of staying in these old, and broken roles? Venus wants to be recognized for the things Venus does for the people Venus loves. And so do you, I bet.
The Sun is Quindecile Pluto who is also Trine with Venus atm so the implication here is that no matter how much you hide, the sun will place a spotlight on the shadowy underbelly of your relationships. Sun opposition Mars causes you to fight with said relationships so as to establish your stake in them or eliminate enemies in your metaphorical bed.
Just be careful if the fight is valid or just stuff you’re reading into because Neptune is retrograde in Pisces causing all sorts of illusionary, victimizing, escapist bullshit that probably sounds really good to Mercury retrograding in Leo. Maybe the problem isn’t with how others are or aren’t treating you…but how you’re treating yourself. And maybe all it takes is letting that self-depreciation and self-obsessiveness go? Give into the flow of the bigger picture? The good thing about Neptune retrograde is the call to finding your inner spirituality and Oneness with the Multi-verse. There’s gonna be a huge wave of new seekers or people initiating into deeper magics.
Jupiter in Scorpio is chillin’ over there expanding those underworld vibes that has us looking at our dark sides and that of humanity while Pluto retrograding in Capricorn has us wound tight to destroy the authorities that are controlling you and placing you in any kind of bondage. Demanding you take action while also making you face having to give up what’s keeping you locked up. Saturn in the same sign as Pluto has us paying our karmic debts or living up to responsibilities we’ve avoided. Probably a lot of people right now are considering.going to/going back to rehab or some sort of intense therapy, reaping actions that they’ve sowed for awhile now, realizing they’re in an abusive relationship of some sort, having health issues, or planning to overthrow a government. Or more personally and micro-cosmically, you might be overthrowing your own shadow-self and it’s control over your actions by releasing old patterns and karmic debts made in this life and those of the past.
Amongst all this chaos, we have our saving grace: Saturn Trine Uranus. It will take all this conflict and fire and relationship conflict and give it a harmonious resolution. Saturn Trine Uranus is the best blend of working within the rules of a structure or relationship and finding new ways for everyone to feel appreciated. It’s the perfect blend of stability and innovation and often it takes the form of finding new ways to do old things. So if you have to quit smoking again, quit interacting with certain people again, quit trying to control the outcomes out of your control, or finally doing what you need to in order to gain your freedom of expression again, try approaching it at a different angle than your usual. Maybe stand on top of your head and see the world upside from a fresh perspective and listen to what Future You has to say about your role in the world.
So to summarize: We’re analyzing our inner/external relationships because some of them might not be good for us anymore. And we’re being called to move into the future with more self-awareness and freedom to express who we are on an intrinsic level.We’re gonna take action to make this happen. No more sitting around. And we’re probably gonna fight and or scream loudly. Aka. We’re not gonna take it! No, we ain’t gonna take it! We’re not gonna take it anymore!
May 19th, Venus Enters Cancer. And opens up a floodgate of feels.
Venus has been sitting in intellectual, data-driven Gemini since late April. It’s given us some time to enjoy the lighter and less serious parts of romance-or be annoyed by it’s shallow, surface-level approach. The casual flirt, noncommittal sex, witty bedside banter, or emotional detachment with our significant others have reigned supreme in the realms of love as Venus has explored our dialogues/thought processes surrounding partnerships and done away with all that “touchy feely crap”. With Venus in Gemini, the brain/words we speak is sexy, and more appealing than the depths of the heart.
A lot of us recently have probably had some really illuminating talks with our significant others, friends, or even perhaps business partners. And maybe, for some of you, not all of it is sitting right as your brain struggles to understand or accept the words spoken during Venus in Gemini.
But say no more, fam! Venus gotchu covered.
The planet of love, wealth, and partnerships dips her toe into the moon-soaked waters of emotional sensitivity on Saturday and enters the sign of Cancer. Saturday is also the last day of Taurus season which has been rocked and shaken (in more ways than one) by electric Uranus, the planet of unpredictable change. Having Venus move into Cancer on the last day of Taurus will definitely soften the hyper energetic cluster fuck of events (good, bad, and u w0t mate?) that’s been running wild lately. And perhaps those weird storms that stuck on the 15th will begin to calm down as we…all collectively probably want a fucking nap and to relax.
Venus entering Cancer heralds the return of that sweet, sweet emotional depth that’s been missing since fer fucking ever (actually since February). The “home”, the family unit, and the comforts/expectations we have around these concepts will become the hyper focus and protected fiercely. If people suddenly retreat into themselves (their shell) and drop off your radar, don’t be surprised! There are some things that can’t be unsaid after Venus in Gemini and that’s okay. It only opens you up to seeing the people around you who ARE actually supportive of your genuine being. And so, with Venus in Cancer, we will be more concerned with our immediate circle. Our sense of family. More to the point, we will be choosing who that immediate circle is after we’ve been chatting it up with everyone new and exciting since April. Some people just don’t make the cut on the 19th.
Venus enters Cancer during this current year of the Earth Dog will be providing EXTRA fuel to find your home and community, to find your tribe, or “where you belong” as the dog is a very social, pack-orientated creature. I believe Venus entering Cancer will allow us the very beginning steps to actualizing this homecoming of sorts our soul is longing for.
AND OH MY GOD ARE WE GOING TO BE MOODY! There’s gonna be some INTENSE PSYCHIC feelings screaming out of everyone here. Unless you’re an empath who can ground, center, and ward effectively, this transit is going to donkey punch you in the face. Because you and everyone around you will be feeling the feels. The positive thing about this is with heightened receptivity will come psychic dreams or intuitions that weren’t available during Venus Enters Gemini. Could be a great time to do a little dream magic or explore the astral.
Also, warning: since there will be high emotional-psychic vibes going around, I predict the narcissists will be out on the hunt for fresh empath meat.
With the deep feelings of love and affection that Venus Enters Cancer is capable of, this time period can open up our heart. It can fill us with emotional nourishment. It can allow us to be that Mom Friend everyone needs or have that Mom Friend everyone needs at least once in their lives. It can be a time of sweetness and give us a true sense of domestic fulfillment. It can be a time of true friends. At it’s best, Venus Entering Cancer will enrich our lives with some much-needed TLC and initiate a reawakening of the heart..as much as it can also make you a subjective and mercurial hurricane of wild expectations. Ones that are built up unrealistically only to be dashed when they aren’t fulfilled. Inciting sobbing, giving cold-shoulders, and long defensive speeches on Facebook that scare away anyone who could read through the very long rant you posted. Venus Enters Cancer places their lovers and family members on pedestals and more often than not, people don’t live up well to those expectations. Especially when they change as rapidly as the moon.
Those who work with the moon or mother goddess deities will probably experience a serious boost of mojo during Venus Enters Cancer and the topic of love spells (but please Universe no) might get brought up in the magician circles as Cancer can…be extremely clingy and co-dependent as much as Cancer is truly caring and nurturing. Matriarchal affairs will be emphasized during this time. So will boobs. We might see more push to normalize public breast-feeding, care for children, and provide support to struggling families. There might be a lot of baby-making happening as Venus Entering Cancer is very into children as an expression of true happiness.
All in all, May 19th offers us a chance to get in touch with our hearts, our emotional intuition, and our sense of home again where we can choose who our family is. We will have to decide where and with whom our loyalties lay and if those loyalties are really rewarded in earnest.
