A Ward Filler is what you put on the inside of the ward, in your actual space. This is so that even if an intruder or harmful energy manages to get past your wards, the inner space is still unsafe for them. Anything that you could visualize or imagine protectively clouding or filling up your space could be used as one.
You want your Ward Filler to have at least these properties:
- Anti-Teleport: So those that are not invited in can’t just teleport past your wards.
- Terrain Damage: So that the area is still unsafe for intruders.
- Malleable Cloud of Protection: So that it could concentrate itself around you when an intruder happens.
A few potential examples:
- Toxic gas: Made from the clouds of burning incense filling your space, imagine the incense smoke being poisonous to any and all intruders.
- Candle: Imagine the fiery energy from the energy filling up the space, burning anything that tries to enter. Additionally, you could imagine the light could fill up the space and be damaging as well.
- Light: Imagine the light from a certain lamp filling the space and frying any intruders that enter.
- Protective Mist: As you spray the water around the room, imagine the water energy lingering in the air and automatically filling the lungs of any intruders, drowning them unless they leave immediately.

A Method I’ve adapted for checking and temporarily repairing wards quickly.
All you need is some paper, a pen and something to channel and read the energy (Crystals are a fine example).
Take your piece of paper and your reader and while holding the reader, close your eyes and try to sense the energy of the space and its wards. Transfer that feeling onto the paper.
Once you’ve envision your ward and space, take your pen (keeping your eyes closed) and start scribbling back and forth weaving the energy together in that spot that you see in your mind.
To help find weak spots that need repair I associate certain energy colors and hot/cold signatures with different needs – which is something you can find or create for your personal associations of your wards.
If you do feel an area needs to be repaired, I thicken the scribbling in that area while weaving the energy in my mind. Vice-versa erasing with pen if needed to be cleansed or cleared.
You can also use this method to bind areas or add sigils/runetic protection to the wards.
Top Ward Mistakes II
These are some common reasons why wards, even powerful ones, fail at times. I have noticed these over the years, through my mistakes and others.
…The Ceiling. Did you remember to ward your ceiling? It doesn’t matter how powerful the walls are if an entity can just jump over it.
…The Floor. Also doesn’t matter how strong the walls are if the entity can just dig under it.
A Circle Doesn’t Fit Into A Square: Does the shape of the ward match the room you are in? While a circle is the most stable when standalone, not clinging to anything else, it’s still weaker than something tied to something physical- such as the walls, floors, and ceilings of your space. Thus, even the best spherical ward will still fade out much quicker than something tied to the physical structure of your house. Additionally, having a circle in your (most likely) square-ish shaped room will leave certain corners without protection; you want the intruder to be kept out of your house in the first place, not just certain parts of it.
The Corners, Edges, Etc: Building on the previous point, even when the ward is tied to the physical structure of the house, many people don’t pay attention to the corners or edges where the ward bends- this is often where the ward is usually weakest. You want to double check that the ward is solid on those portions and maybe even visualize something tougher holding it together there, as the bending usually makes it more fragile near those certain points.
